Welcome to CyberCommunities, our class blog that explores various digital neighborhoods. Each week 2-3 people will post articles about their community, which will form the basis for class discussion.

A restrictive writer’s DeviantArt.
Your ability to post isn’t effected, but the amount of reviews you leave determines how much feedback you’ll gain access to. Different writers come together and critique each other’s work more consciously than normally. Not posting reviews can negatively affect your capability to see what other users/writer’s comments are on your own pieces.
I think it’s a good system to have. The Admins of a site can only go so far with their ban on spamming being substituted for reviews. To use this method would help other authors/users to not only post their own work (for a more truthful response), but to also leave those types of responses for others that submit their art. The point system can even be individualized. It seems a bit complicated, but I guess different websites would adjust the point system for their own purpose (maybe even using the points to be able to turn over and buy site products. Instead of using money on DeviantArt, where you can buy magnets, puzzles or mouse pads of artist work).
